Tour Tschigat

Saturday 20 July 2002

Route: Starting from Tirol we took the funicular to the Hochmut, and reached the Oberkaser through the "Jägersteig". We passed the "Langsee" and reached the "Große Rötelspitze", at 2295m. After a long and deserved rest we returned to the Langsee and walked up to the "Milchseen" (milk lakes) and then up to the "Milchseescharte" (2688m). Here we bivouaced in a place resembling a tin of cakes rather than a refuge.

Sunday 21 July 2002

Route: We got up at 4 am, managed somehow to find the "Hals-Jöchl" (2808m) in the dark, and climbed up to the top of the Mount Tschigat (2998m). We returned via the "Kamin" to the "Milchseen" and returned to Tirol through Sprons valley.
